Continuing the celebration of the music and life, of one of the true giants of jazz music, on May, 18, 2008, The Alton Museum Committee on Black Pioneers, and the Miles Davis Jazz Celebration Steering Committee, will present The Third Annual Miles Davis Jazz Celebration, in the Trimpe Hall, on Sunday afternoon, May 18, 2008, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM.
This year we will also be celebrating the music and life of Lutheran Ingram, legendary R & B artist, who brought such classics as "Ain't that loving you (for more reasons than one)", "Respect Yourself", one of the biggest hits in the history of the music industry, "If Loving You Is Wrong, (I Don't Want To Be Right...!)", to music loving audiences world wide.
Howard Neal, who lays down a great solid beat on drums, Tim Jarden, who plays just about everything in sight, including trumpet, guitar, and electric bass, are the co-leaders of this very fine jazz group. Herb Hutchinson, who swings hard on tenor saxophone, Kenny King, a fine guitarist and trombonist, and Kerry Walter, who plays fine trumpet, are also members of the group.
If you enjoy jazz, you will not want to miss out on this great afternoon of entertainment.
